In April 2025, the production of lithium manganate oxide (LMO) decreased slightly MoM, but still showed a significant YoY increase.
This decline was mainly due to the drop in lithium carbonate prices, which led to a concurrent decline in LMO prices, exacerbating losses. Some small enterprises lacking cost advantages faced difficulties, resulting in partial production cuts or suspensions, and thus a slight decline in market supply. However, leading LMO enterprises maintained stable production, leading to an increase in market concentration.
It is expected that by May 2025, with the recovery of downstream demand, the market's stockpiling demand for LMO materials will increase, and market activity and inquiry volumes will also rise, thereby positively driving LMO production. Therefore, it is anticipated that in May, LMO production will increase slightly MoM, while the YoY growth rate will remain stable.
